Annual Dementia & Alzheimer’s Association Luncheon and Awards

Marcia Haynes was a great community advocate, and when her husband, Fred, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease in 2006, she became his advocate as well as his primary caregiver until his passing in 2014. Marcia’s passion for supporting dementia and Alzheimer’s research and caring for families and individuals impacted by more loss led her to establishing our association.

This luncheon will honor her vision, while also honoring our local advocates and organizations that share in Marcia’s mission.

10th Annual Alzheimer’s 5K Run/Walk For The Cure

Join us in celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the Dementia & Alzheimer’s Association of St. Clair County’s (D.A.A.S.C.C.) annual 5K Run/Walk, “Find the Cure,” on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Kiefer Park near the Port Huron City Building.

Every step makes a difference. Proceeds from this meaningful event support local caregivers through the D.A.A.S.C.C. Respite Grant Program and the D.A.A.S.C.C. Educational Speaker Series, while also contributing to vital research at the Michigan Alzheimer’s Disease Center.

Together, we provide hope, support, and progress for families in our community facing the challenges of dementia and Alzheimer’s.

The race begins at 9:00 a.m., with race-day registration and shirt pick-up starting at 8:00 a.m. T-shirts are guaranteed for participants who register by midnight on September 11, 2026.

Early packet pick-up will be held Friday, September 25, from 1:00–5:00 p.m. at St. Clair County Community Mental Health, 3111 Electric Ave., Port Huron.

Join us to run, walk, remember, and stand together as we work toward a future without Alzheimer’s.
